COVID-19 UPDATES AND INFORMATION
July 15, 2020
To all of the members and friends of our Morris Park Players Community,
Morris Park Players has made the difficult decision to cancel all of our 2020 events, including our annual Bauhaus fundraiser and our fall production of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
While we wanted to continue to hope and plan for the remainder of this year, there are safety protocols that need to be created and implemented before we can start rehearsing, performing, and sharing musical theatre together again. Furthermore, we are a volunteer community organization utilizing the shared space of Edison High School. As Edison’s guest, their priority is our priority. They are 100% focused on their students’ health and safety, as are we.
We are not making any 2021 plans for MPP until later this fall. Meanwhile, we will be focusing on the following items.
- Volunteering in our community. We want to give back to our neighborhood in this time of need. We are grateful that Morris Park Players as an organization is in a stable place, and that we are able to take some time off of theatre to give back.
- Celebrating our past. Morris Park has been running since 1962. We have some cool historical stuff to share on our social media platforms with our community!
- Supporting our friends. We are so excited for all of our theater friends who will be able to perform before we do. The leaders of Morris Park Players plan to get involved, volunteer, and be there with applause as their curtains go up!
- Watching and learning. Morris Park Players will be working with other theaters in the community so we can learn together. We hope to create a coalition to share experiences, resources, knowledge and more!
We miss our volunteers, our performers, our crew members, and our audiences. However, our focus for 2020 is everyone’s health and safety. We will see you soon.
